Simon Cabaret Show, Phuket, Thailand

Cabaret started in 1655, derived from tavern which means a restaurant or night club by 1912. It is a form of entertainment featuring a song and dance with a stage for performances. Usually an MC will start by introducing the show followed by the proper music oriented show. Simon Cabaret is one of the main attractions in Phuket, Thailand. We did our booking from a travel agency a day before the show. We were picked up by the van from our hotel and then we were the first ones in the 9 pm show. The ticket will not dictate what seat you will be in. The time you will line up will determine you seat location. Though are there are VIP seats and normal seats. We chose the VIP seats which is located near the front but since we are the 1st ones to line up we were in the first row. Since you cannot still go in and our seats are already secured we decided to grab a drink in the bar and the price was cheap! It was a good buy for only THB 120 for a cocktail drink.

No cameras are allowed inside, to make sure that the show is not being duplicated personnel are roaming around the room and they really tell the person to stop recording or taking pictures. The show is really grand from the setting to the costumes. The price is really worth it as you will watch graceful dancers for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The show has different themes ranging from Moulin Rouge to Thailand’s traditional dance. You can simply see how they transform the stage from one set to another and it was really spectacular. In addition with this water is provided as well as a tissue in each seat.

After the show the performers line up outside for you to see them and take picture but be aware that you need to pay to take picture with them and this is going to their own pocket as a tip. This is the only part which I don’t like because shows in Bangkok, Thailand would be happy to take a picture with you without any tip. Here they force you to give them money after you took the picture with them.

Waiting for he show to start

After the day tour around Phuket, it’s time to watch some show!

A drink first before the show

THB 120 to THB 150 per cocktail drink
They line up for you take picture of them or with them. As you can see they are calling people to take picture with them and also to ask for money

Yes she’s a man before. He is so pretty!!!!!
He’s prettier than a real girl!!
Will I come back again?
Yes I will come back again when I’m in Phuket! I just love their show! It’s so magical and the price is worth it.

City Tour Phuket, Thailand

After two days of going to different beaches it’s time for a City Tour in Phuket. Aside from the beach Phuket has a lot more to recreation and places to see. We decided to go to a one day city tour in Phuket.

Actual Expense: (per person)
Tour with Van pick-up to and from the Hotel                                THB1,000/ PHP 1,363/ USD 31

First Stop is the Phuket View Point, where you could see all the famous beaches in Phuket. I did not get a very good picture because there were a lot of tourist taking photos we only have limited time to stay there. Here you can see the bays of Kata Noi, Kata, Karon and Kho Poo Islands.

So yeah I just took a very narcissistic photo in the Phuket View Point
Second Stop: We then proceed to the Elephant and Monkey Show where a baby elephant is trained some tricks that is very entertaining. The baby Elephant can shoot some hoops, ride a bicycle, and massage you. What I do not like about this is that after the show they chain the Baby Elephant. I was hoping that they could just let them roam around at one point. After that we watch the monkey show which also show some tricks. Lastly we rode an ATV to get us to the place where you will ride the Elephant.

I was a bit shocked when the baby elephant massaged me

Third Stop: Big Buddha. This is the biggest Buddha monument that I ever saw in my life. The place is actually big and beautiful. As you enter the place you must be very respectful by being quiet and wearing long skirts or pants. Good thing I brought my scarf to cover-up my legs. A lot of tourist come here to see the Big Buddha but some also come here to pray. What fascinates me the most is the bells in the trees. I find them very beautiful and amazing as there are prayers written in the bells.

Written here are prayers mostly about love and family

Our tour guide told us that People write here their true love’s desire

Big Buddha

Fourth Stop: Pearl Farm, Bee Farm and Cashew Farm. There is not much actually to see here. It’s more on a place to buy your souvenirs such as pearls, jewelries and foods. I bought some cashew nuts in Barbecue flavour and it’s actually nice.

Bee or Honey Farm

Fifth and Last Stop: Wat Chalong. I have only seen few Buddist Temples in the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore so this place for me is a very very Beautiful place! The architecture and the design is amazing and one of a kind. It has intricate details that would surely make your mouth say Wow. This place by the way is where almost all the young Monks are. They are trained and taught here with strict supervision. We also saw a couple having their Pre-nup photos in the place and I must say that is definitely the place to have your memorable photos taken.

Phi Phi Island, Phuket, Thailand

I will and always be a BEACH PERSON. Ever since I was a child my grandparents took us to swimming every summer and that’s why I have my tanned colour and learned how to swim. I always wanted to have a swimming pool in our house because of my love for swimming but of course having one is a pain in the wallet so the next best thing to attain my dreams is to go to the BEACH or rather Swimming pool area. I fell in love with the beach once I went with my college buddies and from then on the rest is history.

Phuket is very well known for its beach and Phi Phi (pronounced as Peepee) Island is one of them. We got the chance to swim with the fishes in one of the reserves and it was kind of fun. The life jacket and snorkelling equipment is for free but once you lose it you need to pay for it. The water is very very clean and you can see different kinds of fishes. The personnel from the boat will throw fish foods so the fishes would come near to the people. There a lot of people in the boat so you could expect a lot of people also swimming. You just need to be careful as one will not be aware that they hit you already.

When we arrived in Phi Phi Island an entrance fee of 200 Baht per person should be paid for maintenance of the place. True enough when we reach the beach area it was really one of the most beautiful beaches in the WORLD for me! The sand is so fine and the water is very very clear. It’s actually a nice place to relax and enjoy mother nature’s gift to us. Most of the people just relax there because the water is too shallow. Since it is low tide we were lucky to go to a farther area from the beach and we had a first class experience of just looking at the beautiful scenery.

In addition with this trip lunch is also included. They actually have served normal but satisfying meal to fill our stomach. If you wanted to buy some souvenirs I suggest not to buy here but instead buy in the main Island because of the price hike. A fruit shake is a must to buy here because of the hot weather and also because it takes very fresh! After 2 hours or so of staying in Phi Phi Island I know for a fact that I must come back again!

Let’s go to Phi Phi Island!

Yes I am the first one to dive in the water and why? Because I love to swim a lot!

The ferry is a two level boat. You can actually sit in the air conditioned room which is located in the lower floor but since we wanted to see the view we stayed in the top deck. Though its hot it’s still worth it!

admiring Phi Phi Island

How clear can the water be?

There are Inns, Computer Shops, ATM Machines and Restaurants in Phi Phi Island! Imagine living there full time! If you are not a mall person like me then you could definitely live here and start a business.
Will I go back again?

I want to live in Phi Phi Island! Since we only stayed 2 to 3 hours in the Island, the next time I visit Phuket I will stay here for a longer time and enjoy the island. For now Phi Phi is the NUMBER 1 beach for me.

Budget:
THB 1000 or P1,300 per person for a roundtrip tour with lunch and snoring in Maya Bay and Phi Phi Island

I would suggest that you book your tickets in a Travel Agency in Phuket. It will be much cheaper than online and in the Airport.

Morning in Patong Beach, Phuket, Thailand

The best way to spend the morning in Phuket is to go the beach and do some water sports and drink a very big cup of fresh fruit shake! The night before that we manage to see the sunset, we wanted to see the sunrise but the bed keeps on pulling us and we were tired of walking the night before so we just went to the beach around 9 am. Still it was good enough for we still have the time to play in the water!

Renesh did try the parasailing and for him he said that he conquered his fear of heights and water at the same time. Though it was only a few minutes I could say that it’s worth trying because it’s only once in a blue moon that you get to try this kind of recreation. Normally there are stations where they will offer you water actives and please try your best to haggle. I know for some people the price is considered cheap already but if you have a tight budget (like us) you could haggle and meet halfway for the price. Aside from Parasailing you could also try their jet ski which I think is a good price as well.

Patong beach is a nice place to get a tan. I saw quite a number of Western People getting their tan and some actually are topless for they need don’t want those tan lines. Don’t be surprised of you see this because there is quite a number of people (woman) who do such. The best way to ease the heat is by buying their drinks which is really fresh. Though the price is quite high it’s still ok since you are having a vacation right?
People getting their sun kissed glow!

Are you ready to fly?

Parasailing!

The famous Patong Beach

Will I come back again?
I am in love with Phuket... The End.. :-)

Patong Beach, Phuket Thailand

After a long day of island hopping, the best way to end the day in Phuket is to watch the sunset in the beach. We were lucky enough to see the beautiful orange and purple sky with minimal clouds. When we arrived in Patong beach the sun loungers have already been kept, good thing I brought my shawl with me for us to sit. Everything is so serene in this place and I wanted to stay longer.

After going to the beach, we roam around and ate dinner. Aside from the usual barbecue we tried Thailand's famous food "Pad Thai" which is composed of egg, thai noodles, onion, garlic, chili, chicken and etc. Since I do not eat spicy food, commonly pad thai is spicy, I asked them not to put the red and green chili and the taste is nice! It's always a nice thing to eat in these kinds of places because you can taste the local cuisine. People from all walks of lives eat here to experience what Thailand has to offer.

Another good thing in Thailand is everything is cheap including the souvenirs. I bought 3 pouches for my family which cost about P45.00 or $1 USD. Pretty cheap right? Ofcourse an elephant figurine is also a must to buy. If you know how to haggle like me then you are in the right place. Though you are a foreigner you can haggle for they usually give high price to the foreigners well I don't want high price! Haha.

Thai Baht and Philippine Peso are almost the same

The starting price for these figurines are a bit steep but if you know how to haggle then you can get it for a cheap price.
Muay Thai (Thailand Martial Arts) is well know through out the world that's why Muay Thai fans can go to Phuket Thailand and watch a live fight. We did not go because of the price and also I do not like seeing people in a fight

People are starting the clean up the beach and the sun loungers. You actually need to pay if you want to sit in the sun lounger so if you have a cloth and shawl you don't need to pay and you can enjoy the scenery up close

 Beautiful Sunset
Time to go now! So hungry!
Barbecue time! The price is same in the Philippines as well. The only difference is in Philippines we have thick sweet or spicy sauces while in Thailand they have curry as a sauce
Padthai at its finest! A must try in Thailand!
This is Thailand's Songthaews (two benches). It is like a small Jeepney (Philippine's version). If you want to go around then this is the ride to go in but I find it very expensive for 1 ride cost P300!!  One of the main reasons why people here use motorbikes.
Will I go back again?
Patong Beach is beautiful! So it's a definite yes for me. If only we have more time in Phuket then we could have seen a lot more on what Phuket has to offer.
